Animals
Animals can come in all shapes and sizes. There are very small animals like ants, flies, and spiders. There are small animals like snails, mice, and rabbits. Animals that are very heavy are animals like elephants and hippos. Some animals are very tall, like giraffes.
Animals can live on land or in the water. Some animals that live on land are deer, bears, and moose. Some animals that live in the water are whales, dolphins, and sharks. Those animals live in the ocean. They are called marine animals.
Animals that live in lakes and rivers include trout, bass, and turtles. These are called fresh water animals. Some animals, like birds, can fly. Some birds that you know are falcons, eagles, and hawks.
Some animals can live in water, on land, and can fly. A good example of this is the duck. Ducks can do all three. Ducks can look for food on land and in the water, and they can fly places they want to go pretty fast.
The world is filled with interesting animals that are amazing to see. It is fun to learn about what they do and how they live. You can learn about animals at school, in books from the library, and by looking for information about them on the Internet.
